about

Whichever tutor you have teaching you at SVA, you are always guaranteed to be taught from the same syllabus, though it will be changed slightly to suit your individual needs. This is because it has been taught nationally and it is proving a very popular and beneficial way of learning to students of all ages and abilities.

One to One

One to one lessons are very popular to those just starting out - teaching in groups you can't focus on students technique, tuning etc individually. One to one lessons are also popular for people who really want to take singing seriously - they get the tutors undivided attention and lessons planned specifically for them.

Groups and Workshops:

Singing groups and workshops are great for people who aren't sure if they would like to take singing lessons -they can experience some of the exercises and techniques taught in lessons without having the focus fully on them at all times. Singing groups and workshops are also good for people who would like to get straight in and have a go at singing with microphones through a P.A and possibly sing in front of other people (if they feel confident enough).

Lessons Cover:

Vocal warm up: Will basically be the same as above though not in as much detail.

Pre-production/song preparation: Will again be basically the same as above but not in as much detail, though students will also look at:

  • Mic technique
  • Singing in groups
  • performance to rest of group (if students feel confident enough).

Finally:

It is very important to remember that we aim to make all lessons a fun and enjoyable experience. As you can see above there is a lot to learn, but both tutors are patient and will go at whichever pace you set, we will work you as hard as you want to be worked!
